How many holidays and birthday parties does the average military family miss out on?
I do not have an answer to that. I do know that we have lived out of state (and out of the time zone!) for eight years, away from both of our families.
We have missed out on family parties, family reunions, Thanksgivings, Christmases, weddings, funerals, baby showers and everything in between for so long. Our families have missed out on the birth of our children and watching them grow up until we moved back to California. With about a year left in R’s service, we can look forward to taking road trips to see R’s side of the family too!
My uncle recently celebrated his birthday and the family insisted he sit down. Here is clip of the birthday song.
Happy birthday, Uncle!
