So over on Wife of a Sailor (http://wifeofasailor.com), Wife posts questions for other bloggers to answer on their own military spouse blogs. (Still with me so far?) And since the kids have been on summer break for three days
what the heck? is that all? I thought this might be fun to fill out while Yogi the Bear plays for the sixth time.
Feel free to put on your own blogs and/or comment with your own answers. Have a great weekend!
1. Are you a different person than you were five years ago?
YES! Five years ago we moved to Virginia from Texas. Our kid count was at two and I decided to go back to work full-time. I learned a lot about how much I was capable of doing as far as raising the children almost entirely on my own while teaching first grade. I also learned how much my husband was willing to sacrifice for all of us, which is everything.
2. If you could go on Amazing Race, who would you take with you as your partner and why?
Not really a fan of Amazing Race but anything that involves work and determination, I would definitely choose my husband! He is the most selfless person in the world and I know that people sometimes take advantage of that, including our own children. (“Of course Mommy lets us stay up as late as we want!” Uh, no.)
3. Does Facebook or Twitter actually bring more stress or good in to your life?
No. I think it’s a bit stressful when you’re just learning but I am able to keep in touch with so many people from different stages of my life, whether it’s getting coffee with a friend from KINDERGARTEN or coworkers from long long ago. It’s a lot easier to share photos and news with family and friends too.
4. June is National Soul Food Month- what’s your soul food?
Sounds silly but rice and lumpia! We cook rice about once a week but rarely buy lumpia because it’s just so darn bad for you but oh so divine!
5. If you could live in any other era than the current, which one would it be & why?
I would have loved to kick it with the Impressionists. What an exciting time to be an artist! Yo Monet, let’s go smoke some cloves and check out the haystacks. Dude, Van Gogh, you gotta move on, man. Okay, wrong era for Van Gogh but that would’ve been funny to say.
